Very sad news out of Hartford this week . One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a car accident in Hartford Monday night, officials said.

Police said the accident happened at approximately 7:47 p.m. in the area of Garden Street at Capen Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a car near the intersection which they say struck a utility pole after the car crash.

In these intersection cases, one vehicle always has the right of way.  As the investigation unfolds, the officials will speak with witnesses, look at forensic evidence, and review video camera footage of the area to discern which driver is at fault.  The victims of Connecticut car crashes are always entitled to full and fair compensation for their losses, including loss of life.  Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims.
