I come from a family of lawyers but I never thought that was the career for me. My dad was the Reporter of Judicial Decisions for the State of Connecticut and my mom was a partner in a large Hartford firm before being appointed the second woman judge in the State so law was basically the only thing that was ever discussed at home. Me, on the other hand, preferred to play soccer and go sailing every chance I could. I liked boating so much I got my Coast Guard Master Captain's license and felt I could make a career on the water.
In 1983 I reluctantly started law school and after graduation I started in a small firm in Hartford, Connecticut. While there I fell in love with helping injured people, especially those hurt at work. In 2006 I opened the doors to my own firm doing worker's comp, personal injury, social security disability and personal bankruptcies. I got pretty good at doing these things and over the years have developed a pretty good following. A lot of clients refer their friends to me for their work injury cases as do a lot of other lawyers. That makes me really happy. When the Connecticut Bar Association began allowing lawyers to specialize in workers comp in 2003, I went through the process, took the test and became a specialist. It's a certification I have held continuously.

I went to College at Ohio Wesleyan University where I got a degree in English and graduated from Western New England University Law School..I am admitted to all Connecticut State and Federal Courts as well as the United States Supreme Court.
When I'm not in court, I can be found far at sea. I have been happily married since 1987 and have 3 grown kids, a large dog and 3 cats.
